Sally lightfoot B&W, Galapagos.
Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, 2008.
The black rocks lining the coasts of the Galapagos archipegalo are often populated with these colorful crabs. I witnessed one slip from a rock only to have the entire underside of its shell become dislodged from its body upon impact when it landed. People say they are very tasty, but as a protected species,I just have to take their word on it.
